Oklahoma Will Win the National Title. But Not for the Reasons You Think
With the playoff rankings coming out there's a lot of things to be said about all four teams. The Dynasty that is Alabama that should not be there because they did not win their conference. Clemson the Defending National Champs. Oklahoma the best offence in the country. Georgia the team that won the SEC and i would assume is pretty upset that Alabama got in.
Now i could throw stats at you and facts about why each team is going to win their matchup and take home the National Title. Which when looking at everything any 4 of these teams could win the whole thing. But you wanna know how i am going to make my “informed decision”? Not by points scored, not by what the players have done as of recent. I will make the pick based off of how many players came from. Then to make it even more selective i am only looking at the ones to come out of the great State of Texas.
If anyone follows Texas High School Football you would know that big games are something that comes from being on good teams. Here is a section from an article written by a friend of mine that talks about what playing in Texas is all about.
“First off, we put more people in the seats at our State Championship games than most collegiate bowl games do. Last year, 245,913 people went to the 12 State Finals from Class 1A to Class 6A. The 2016 matchup of DeSoto and Cibolo Steele in the 6A Division II final drew the biggest crowd at 40,318. College bowl games, such as the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Gildan New Mexico Bowl or the Las Vegas Bowl, just don't stack up averaging roughly 30,000 in attendance. Not to mention, in 2013, Allen and Pearland set the record for attendance when 54,317 people went to AT&T Stadium for the 5A Division 1 State Title.”

Like Sam said they play in big stadiums in front of huge crowds that are more than a lot of bowl games. So players that have come from these places know how to play under pressure.
This game is lopsided with Texas players. Which is not hard to figure out why. Clemson is so far away from the state that it does not make sense for them to come all the way to Texas just to recruit people. Clemson has one player from Texas and it is a True freshman Tight End that only has 2 catches.
Alabama, on the other hand, is loaded. They have 13 players coming from the state and the best one has been putting in work for them over the past two seasons. Jalen Hurts is the starting QB and lead the tide to the National Title game last year just to fall short. The fact that he is just a sophomore is
huge for their future.
Alabama is going to walk away with this one.
This game will be even more one sided then the last. Due to the fact that Oklahoma is the next state north of Texas they have 39 players from the state. The top dog coming in the Heisman front runner Baker Mayfield. Throwing for more than 4000 yards and 41 Touchdowns throughout the season is the reason he is up at the front.
Georgia only has 2 players from Texas. One who is a redshirt DB from my hometown of Frisco and the other is from a Freshman receiver who has not played much.
Without a doubt this will be an Oklahoma win.
The game that everyone wants. The number one offense in the country against the number one defense. But you know what… Who has the most
Texas players?? Oklahoma thats right.
Oklahoma wins. Alabama losses (again). The Big 12 is back on top.
