Team of the Week: Northeast Texas
North East Texas State 3-1
These guys had one heck of a week. When they are 3-1 that is good for any week. But, when you win 2 of your games against a team against a Top 10. That changes a few things.
To start the week off they played Weatherford and took home the win with a score of 11-9. That in its self is a big win. Taylor Barber had a day at the plate going 3-3, with a HR, 3 RBI, and a walk.
Going into their weekend series against the #10 Hutchison the took the series 2-1.
Game one they won 7-1. With Manny Garcia going 2-3 with a HR, 1 Double, and 3 RBI, then Taylor Barber showed up again with a HR of his own. On the mound, Chandler Dean had a complete game, with 7 innings pitched, 4 hits, 4 K’s, and 1 ER.
During game 2 they lost in extras 9-7. Tyler Barber had another good game at the plate going 2-6 with 2 Doubles and an RBI.
When it came to game three they won 15-11. With Max Scheurich going 3-5, with 2 HR, and 4 RBI’s.
This series jumped them up the rankings up to #30.
