After a few weeks off the Jaw Bats Series of the Week is back, and this may be one of the biggest of the year. Putting one of the Best Pitching Teams in the Country against one of the Best hitting Teams in the Country. Both teams have a 40-10 Recording coming into the weekend. Both have been ranked nationally, both have been in the Top 5 at different times and both currently are in the Top 10.

Those two teams are #3 South Mountain (40-10) and #6 Central Arizona (40-10).

To add to this series both these teams play in an All wood bat league and are still putting up impressive numbers.

For South Mountain, it has been one of their best seasons in recent years drawing a lot of comparison to their last trip to Grand Junction in 2005 where they finished 6th. Coming into this week they are riding a 16 game win-streak while going 29-3 over their last 32 games all three losses coming by 1 run. They have had Hug wins over Southern Nevada, Southern Idaho, Arizona Western, Cochise and Central Arizona (they split last time they played).

Offensively they are hitting .273, They are 12th in the Country in Triples with 23, 7th in Sac Hits with 33, and 10th in the country in Stolen Bases with 110. Be on the lookout for these guys to have a big impact at the plate this week:

Central Arizona Started off to one of the Hottest starts in the country. Sweeping the Coyote Border Battle, and winning their first 14 games. Outside of Conference, they are a perfect 20-0. They have had big wins over Southern Nevada and South Mountain. Central Arizona has a good history of reaching Grand Junction, Going 5 times most recently in 2011 with 2 National
