The Jaw Bats Series of the Week-(4/26-4/28)
This weeks Voting for the Jaw Bats Series of the week was the closest that it has been all year! Only being separated by a handful of votes. This weeks series brings two teams together that have a huge history of deciding who will conference and going to the World series its self.
Both teams are riding big Streaks into the weekend. San Jac is on a 14 Game Win Streak while Blinn is on a 5 Game.
San Jac is the most consistent faces in Grand Junction. With the most Juco World Series appearances (22), 5 National titles (1985-1987,1989-1990) and going each of the last three years playing in the last two National Championship series and just fall short both times. To go with the Resume of World series appearances their alumni is just as impressive. They have two potential Hall of Famers in Andy Petite and Roger Clemens, and Big Leaguers such as Brandon Belt, Matt Albers, David Rollins, Sean Nolin, and Daniel Stumpf.
This years team has been one of the most consistent teams in the country at the plate. As a team, they are hitting .336 with a .433 OBP. They have 67 Home runs (12th in the country), 25 Triples (12th in the country), and 199 extra base hits (10th in the country). So C/DH Jacob Matheny (Mizzou Commit)- .391 BA, .473 OBP, 8 Doubles, 2 Triples, 8 HR, 34 RBI’s
On the mound is almost as impressive as how these guys hit. With a team ERA of 2.53 (8th in the country) and an Opposing Batting average of .205 (3rd in the country) if the runners do get on they have a hard time getting around to score. On the mound this weekend they will have these guys throwing:

Game 2: So RHP Luke Matheny (Uncommitted) (Son of Cardinals Manager, Mike Matheny) 5-0, 38.2 IP, 2.33 ERA, 34 K’s. 88-90. Four pitch guy, strike Thrower.
Game 3: Fr LHP Rylan Kaufman- 5-1, 36.2 IP, 2.21 ERA, 45 K’s. 91-93, 76-78 CB
Game 4: So RHP Devon Roedahl (All-Conference 2017) (Univ. Of Houston Commit)-6-2, 48.0 IP, 2.81 ERA, 52 K’s. 89-91, 82 Split.
Out of the pen, they have any number of guys to go to but none more impressive then Fr RHP Trey Dillard 0-0, 7 Saves, 13.2 IP, 1.32 ERA and 25 K’s. 95-97, 86 Hammer CB. He is projected to be a Top 3 Round guy in this upcoming draft and is the #1 Juco Prospect in the Country.
Blinn has been to Grand Junction 6 times with the most recent coming in 2014 where they finished in the top 5.
