The JAW Bat "Series" Of the Week- Region 14

Eight teams this weekend will fight it out in Lufkin, TX for a chance to go to Grand Junction, CO for the Junior College World Series. This Region is one of 5 Regions that get an automatic bid, the others being Regions 5, 6, 8 and 22. Once in Grand Junction, these teams have had a bunch of success. As a Region, they are 133-70 all-time in Grand Junction with 20 National Title Games Appearances 10 of those ending with a National title. Of those 8 Teams that are playing this weekend, there are 9 National titles between them.

S1 San Jac- 44-12 (28-7)

These guys are loaded from top to bottom. With 16 Guys committed so far this year (14 D1, 2 NAIA) they will be hard to beat.

Nationally they have one of the Best Pitching staffs with a Team ERA of 2.52(7th) and a Batting Avg Against of .206 (2nd). On the mound their 2 go-to guys to start the games off are So Jacob Cantleberry (Mizzou Commit, 11-2, 2.53 ERA) and So Devon Roedahl (U of H Commit, 7-2, 2.55 ERA). Out of the Bullpen, they have two guys that have been the most reliable for them are Fr Trey Dillard (Mizzou Commit,1-0, 1.72 ERA, 7 SV, 15.51 K/9) and So Aaron George (LSU Commit, 2-1, 1.19 ERA, 3 SV, 15.88 K/9)

At the plate, these guys are top 25 Nationally in most of the categories. 11th in Extra Base hits (227), 24th in Runs Scored (466), 14th in both Triples and Home Runs (29,75). Two guys that have been leading the way this season for them at the plate are Fr OF Tyriece Silas (.473 AVG, .489 OBP, 10 2B, 3 3B, 18 RBI) and Fr OF Alerick Soularie (Tennessee Commit, .406 AVG, .505 OBP, 16 2B, 8 3B, 9 HR 41 RBI)

S2 Blinn- 36-18 (25-8)

On the Mound, these guys are as good as anyone. With a Staff ERA of 4.04 which is 2nd in the conference and a K/9 of 9.97 which is also 2nd in Conference. The two guys at the front of their rotation are So Andrew Morgan (Incarnate Word Commit, 5-2, 3.43 ERA) and SO Kyle Gray (Auburn Commit, 7-1, 2.73 ERA). At the back end of the Bullpen, these guys have been their go-to Fr Bryce Miller (6-1, 4.62 ERA, 5 SV, 11.37 K/9) and Fr Eli Reichmann (2-0, .93 ERA, 1 SV, 13.50 K/9)

At the Dish they are hitting .284 a with a .401 OBP, They are second in the Conference in Home Runs with 44. Leading the way for them is Fr Alec Sanchez (.369 BA, .490 OBP, 12 2B, 2 3B, 7 HR, 42 RBI) and So Brandon Ashy (.329 AVG, .407 OBP, 9 2B, 1 3B, 6 HR, 45 RBI)

S3 Alvin- 27-24 (18-17)

On the mound these guys have a staff Era of 4.95, are 3rd in the conference in K/9 with 9.65. On the Mound, they have been led by So Andrew Wood (5-3, 3.12 ERA) and So Kevin Roliard (4-2, 2 CG, 5.52 ERA). Out of the bullpen these guys have had huge seasons for them Fr Brian Dawson (4-3, 2.53 ERA, 1 SV, 6.02 K/9) and Fr Hunter Murray (2-1, 4.81 ERA, 1 SV, 8.58 K/9)

At the plate, they are 2nd in conference in Batting AVG (.313) 2nd in OBP (.413) and 2nd in RBI (305). These guys have carried the bats for them this season Fr Tyler Hix (Region 14 Player of the Year, .404 AVG, .444 OBP, 14 2B, 2 3B, 12 HR, 47 RBI) and So JC Correa (.371 AVG, .481 OBP, 12 2B, 1 3B, 29 RBI)

S4 Galveston- 21-33 (13-22)

Despite the loss of a teammate back in March these guys have shown up and played when they needed to. Having to win 3 of their last 4 against Wharton to get the final spot for the south.

On the mound, they are 3rd in Team ERA with 4.44 and have a .290 Batting Avg against. These 2 guys have led the wy on the mound for the Whitecaps Fr Jacob Jimenez (7-6, 3.63 ERA) and So Colton Williams (5-3, 3.38 ERA). Out of the bullpen, both Fr Collin Booten (1-0, 6.38 ERA 4.50 K/9) and Fr Jordan Lansford ( 2-1, 3.00 ERA, 3 SV, 5.63 K/9) have been their guys.

At The plate, they are hitting .272 as a team with a .352 OBP. Leading the way for them at the plate is Fr Corbin Vines (.320 AVG, .383 OBP, 12, 2B, 2 3B, 26 RBI) and So Ardres Romero ( .312 AVG, .368 OBP, 3 2B, 2 3B, 16 RBI)

E1 Navarro- 35-20 (23-7)

These guys Clinched the East Conference title this past weekend in Game 1 of their series with Northeast Texas.

On the Mound they have a 4.87 Staff ERA, Striking out an average of 8.97 Batter per 9 innings. Their two fronts of rotation guys are So Paul Dickens (Baylor commit, 8-2, 2.62 ERA) and Fr Austin Faith (7-1, 3.08 ERA). Out of the bullpen they have some solid guys that have done a lot of damage this season; So Asher Cook (TCU Commit, 2-0, 4.15 ERA, 8 SV, 9.97 K/9) and So Johnny Panate (0-0, 6.59 ERA, 6.91 K/9) has been their go-to guys.

At the plate they are hitting .300 as a team with a .416 OBP (2nd in conference), they are also 2nd in both Doubles and Triples (100, 18). These guys have been doing a lot of the heavy lifting for them at the plate this season; Josh Ragan (Central Arkansas Commit, .369 AVG, .439 OBP, 18 2B, 3 3B, 11 HR, 55 RBI) and Mason Holt (uncommitted, .352 AVG, .489 OBP, 8 2B, 2 3B, 4 HR, 30 RBI)

E2 Panola- 38-18 (18-12)

Panola leads the Conference in Stikeouts this season with 459, with a 9.67 K/9 (2nd in Conf), they have a 5.41 Staff ERA. These two guys have done a bunch of work for them this season Fr Chris Edwards (7-1, 4.45 ERA) and Fr Jarret Worff (7-2, 4.80 ERA). Out of the pen look for them to use Fr Zach Goree (4-2, 3.31 ERA, 10.19 K/9) and Fr Nick Barnes (2-0, 2.20 ERA, 3 SV, 18.73 K/9).

At the plate they are hitting .320 (1st in Conf) have a .423 OBP (1st in Conf), they are also 1st in Runs and Hits (456,576) and 1st in Doubles and Home Runs (105, 74). These two guys have lead the way for them this year So Michael Lawson (.451 AVG, .555 OBP, 21 2B, 2 3B, 6 HR, 62 RBI) and So Jordan Wiley (.358 AVG, .416 OBP, 17 2B, 2 3B, 7 HR, 54 RBI)

E3 Northeast- 32-21 (17-13)

On the mound, they have a team ERA of 4.85 (2nd in conf) and a .292 Batting AVG against. On the Mound, these two have been there most consistent starters Fr Tyler

Navarro (4-2, 3.40 ERA) and So Chandler Dean (9-2, 4.42 ERA). Out of their bullpen, these have been their most consistent guys So Matt Kortendick (3-0, 3.21 ERA, 6 SV 8.36 K/9) and So Brody Curry (Cameron U Commit, 2-3, 8.75 ERA, 7.99 K/9)

At the plate, they are hitting .312 AVG (2nd in Conf) and .402 OBP. At the dish these two have had 2 of the hottest years in the conference So Taylor Barber (UTSA Commit, .370 AVG, .463 OBP, 17 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR, 40 RBI) and So Manny Garcia (La Tech Commit, .379 AVG, .431 OBP, 16 2B, 1 3B, 12 HR, 51 RBI)

E4 Angelina- 27-24 (14-15)

Despite being the 4 seed in the East, Angelina was the on of the best Pitching staffs in the Conference. They were 1st in ERA (4.75), 1st in K/9 (10.07), they have given the least hits (356). Leading the way for them Fr Sean Bergeron (8-2, 3.32 ERA) and Fr Lance Lusk (4-6,4.50 ERA). Out of the pen, these two have been their most consistent So Jarod Sprinkle ( 1-4, 4.46 ERA, 8.50 K/9) and So Kyle Allen (0-0, 4.55 ERA, 2 SV, 10.62 ERA)

At the plate they are hitting .288 and have an OBP of .392. At the plate this season here is who has done well for them Fr Taylor Meaux (.351 AVG, .500 OBP, 5 2B, 4 HR, 22 RBI) and So Sam Haley (.323 AVG, .433 OBP, 5 2B, 3 3B, 8 HR, and 27 RBI)
