The JuCo Baseball Blog All-Americans

The season is over. The National Title has been played. It is time for the Off-Season and the grind for next years National Championship to start.

This year saw some of the best JuCo Baseball played in recent years. Pitchers who could flat out pitch and hitters who just did what they wanted to do at the plate.

Player of The Year:

Freshman First Baseman Joey Polak from Jefferson College (MO)-Missouri State Commit (D1)

What else can be said for the Red Shirt Freshman. After transferring in from the University of South Carolina. He Led the country in 3 different offensive categories RBI (107), Total Bases (216), and Home Runs (32). He was Top 10 in 5 others: 2nd in Hits (100) and Slugging % (.991), 6th in On Base % (.550), and 9th in Runs (82) and Batting Avg (.459). On top of all this he had 20 Doubles and a .985 Fielding %

Pitcher of the Year:

Sophomore Starting Pitcher Sean Chandler from Iowa Western-

Tulane Commit (D1)

With an 11-0 record he helped the Reivers punch their 4th trip to Grand Junction in the past 5 Years. This season he made 14 Appearances with 13 of those being starts. In his 74.o Innings of work this season he posted a 1.34 ERA which led the country, and had 123 K's (5th) which turned into a 14.96 K/9 (7th). He also had 2 Shutouts (9th)

2-Way Player of the Year:

Sophomore Starting Pitcher/INF Landon Knack from Walter State- East Tennessee State University Commit (D1)

What could be said for this guy. On the mound he Led the country in mound with 13, didn't have a single loss. He made 16 Appearances with all those being Starts. With that he had 3 Complete games 1 being a Shutout. He pitched 92.2 Innings only giving up 28 runs. He posted a 3.01 ERA, with 112 K's and a K/9 of 10.88.

At the plate this season he hit .343 with a .450 OBP. He was one of the big offensive leader for Walter State this season. He had 11 Hr with 37 RBI. In the field he posted a .983 Fielding %.
